Hawaii Marriage Laws

If you are destination couple wanting to get hitched in Hawaii, we have good news. It’s easier than you think! Download your application here. Fill it out and bring it with you. When you arrive in Hawaii, your Pacific Aisles planner will tell you which Health Department office will be most convenient for you and give you easy directions from where you are staying!

Go to the Health Department office within 30 days of your planned wedding date (you must apply in person) and be prepared to wait an hour or two. All you need to bring is valid proof of age, such as your driver’s license or passport, and $60 (cash only!). There is no physical or blood test required.

After the wedding, your officiant will mail the signed license to the state and you will receive your copy in the mail within weeks. Your marriage is valid and legal within the United States!

If you were planning on bringing you own official with you from out of state, the officiant must be licensed to perform a legal marriage ceremony in the State of Hawaii. Temporary licenses are available. Contact the State of Hawaii Department of Health or your Pacific Aisles wedding planner for more information.
